Mass for King Richard III RIP


As part of the ceremonies surrounding the re-interment of King Richard III in Leicester Cathedral on Thursday 26th March 2015, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, will celebrate a Requiem Mass for the repose of Richard III’s soul in Holy Cross Priory Church, Leicester, at 5.00 pm on Monday 23rd March. Tickets are available for members of the public, but space is limited; should you wish to attend, please send your name, address and home parish to: King Richard III Office, Holy Cross Priory, 45 Wellington Street, LEICESTER LE1 6HW or: kriii@holycrossleicester.org; only two tickets may be requested per person. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 18th February 2015, and successful applicants will be notified by 6th March 2015.


Rosmini Centre Events


Greetings from the Rosmini Centre for 2015. The focus this year for Saturday Mornings is on the initiatives taken by Pope Francis – “Consecrated Life”, “Family Relationships”, “Ecology”. The Saturday Afternoons the themes for reflection are “Prayer”. All the details including Healing Masses, Retreat Days, Tuesday and Wednesday Prayer you will find on the www.rosminicentre.co.uk site.


Executive Head Teacher Post


The Federation of English Martyrs, Oakham and St Augustine’s, Stamford, Catholic Voluntary Academies is seeking to appoint an Executive Head Teacher as from the Autumn Term 2015 ( or earlier if possible). Women's World Day of Prayer


This year’s Women's World Day of Prayer… is being held at St Wilfrid’s on Friday 6th March at 7pm. A team of volunteers are needed to help plan this Service. To help us do this we are holding a meeting on Wednesday 11th February at 7.30pm in the Fr Balfe Room. Everybody is welcome to come along. Flame2


A National Youth Event at Wembley Arena on Saturday 7th March 2015. After the success of the Flame event with 8,000 young Catholics coming together in 2012, Flame2 promises to be even bigger with 10,000 young Catholics aged 14 to 21 years old coming together for prayer, thought and world class music from Grammy award winning composer Matt Redmond. Speakers include Cardinal Tagle of Manila, Baroness Sheila Hollins and Cardinal Vincent Nichols of Westminster. A coach has been organised by Leicester Catholic Active Youth to travel down to Wembley for the day for £20, which includes travel, Flame2 ticket and a Robin Hood hat for Nottingham Diocese! The Call, The Journey & The Mission


This weekend, we have a pastoral letter from Mgr Thomas McGovern, Diocesan Administrator of the Diocese of Nottingham, concerning marriage and family life. The Bishops of England and Wales are inviting us to pray and reflect with them on the how the gift of marriage and family life and their place in the Church’s in advance of next October’s meeting of the Synod of Bishops on the vocation and mission of the family. To help us, they have produced The Call, the Journey and the Mission, copies of which are available by clicking on the image above.

Proclaim'15

In 2015 a significant evangelisation initiative called Proclaim’15 is being launched to support, inspire and encourage new expressions of parish evangelisation. A project of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, it is designed to affirm the good work that is already being done by the Catholic community, and to provide resources and events to profile and develop new expressions of Catholic joy and missionary outreach.
